The problem of odours has been eliminated with the installation of an odour removal system for underground sewage pumping stations. The system operates continuously and prevents the spread of unpleasant odours by destroying them while still in the pump cavity, when ozone oxidizes odour-causing molecules such as hydrogen sulphide, mercaptans, methane, and so on.
