In Lutsk, Ukraine, one of the sewage pumping stations has an ozone removal system. Sewage pumping station No. 2 is located nearby residential houses, so the problem of unpleasant odour was particularly important. As sewage pumping stations are an integral part of the city’s infrastructure, the city management began to look for solutions to address the problem. An ozonation system, where ozone is supplied into the exhaust air through the air exhaust ventilation was chosen. In the ventilation system, polluted air mixes with ozone, whereas the ozone oxidizes odour molecules and it becomes odourless air before entering the environment.
